Nigeria actress, Mary Njoku, has apologized for the way she reacted after she and her husband, Jason Njoku, received backslashes on social media for reportedly underpaying their staff and trashing school certificates.
Trouble started when the husband of the actress, Jason Njoku, stated that N4.6 million as tuition fee was cheap and that he paid more than that for his children in nursery school.
This sparked media reactions as some social media users berated the couple for paying that huge amount on tuition fees while paying their staff “peanuts.”
According to critics, how could the couple’s staff afford to pay such an amount of money for tuition from being underpaid?
Get N1m If You Show Proof We Underpay Staff
Reacting, Mercy Njoku took to her social media account offering to pay anyone with proof that she underpaid graduates working for her company.
I want to apologize for speaking about meritocracy. For speaking up for smart people who work hard but underpaid ‘cos they couldn’t afford to further their education. I apologize. I run ROK. And we value our employees irrespective of their educational qualification.
“So come forward with proof if you know any current ROK staff who earns 30k, 70k or even 90k. Graduate or illiterate. And get 1m naira. Come forward PUBLICLY Pls.”
